Christine Kiracofe and Lisa Lambert Snodgrass are both professors of Higher Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the College.

The Leadership and Innovation Lab (LiLab), is an organization within UniWA in Athens, Greece. It is composed of eight UniWA faculty members and 14 collaborating faculty and PhD candidates from global institutions, including California State University, University of Westminster, and other Greek institutions such as Hellenic Open University and Patras University.

The LiLab and Purdue Higher Education faculty are planning several joint initiatives to launch in Summer 2024, including a summer school seminar for UniWA and Purdue graduate students focused on international comparative higher education systems. Also in development are collaborative research projects with UniWA faculty and Purdue graduate students to jointly author scholarly publications.

Kiracofe and Snodgrass are discussing with UniWA faculty and the LiLab possible future opportunities for graduate students from both institutions. These may include joint international experiences, comparative international research, and cross-institutional course enrollment for current PhD students and for students enrolling in the new online MSEd program in Higher Education Systems, Policy and Leadership, launching Fall 2024.

“The Department of Educational Studies is proud of our faculty’s continued success at expanding international collaborations and providing our students with opportunities for international experiences that deepen their global professional perspectives,” said Ala Samarapungavan, interim department head of Education Studies.

International collaboration is a focus of the PhD in Higher Education at Purdue, with doctoral students completing a required study abroad program after their second year of studies. “We are excited to build upon our robust international presence in the field of Higher Education through this new collaboration,” said Kiracofe and Snodgrass.
