College of Education’s Marchand-Martella named provost at UC Colorado Springs

Nancy E. Marchand-Martella, the Suzi and Dale Gallagher Dean of the College of Education, has been named provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs for the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, effective July 1, 2022.

Marchand-Martella joined Purdue as dean in July 2018 and quickly set to work on improving the landscape of teacher education. The end result of a two-year process was the newly launched Innovation Initiative – the most comprehensive restructuring of the teacher education curriculum at Purdue in two decades. As a result of her vision and guidance, graduates of the College of Education will be better prepared to adapt to the ever-changing educational environment.

Information on the search for a new dean of the College of Education will be announced after the first of the year.
