Professional Licensure Disclosure
Purdue University Teacher Education Programs fall into one of the following three categories. Refer to the list below to see which category your program falls under and review the appropriate Licensure Program Agreement.
NOTE:
As of June 30, 2020, the College of Education Online Special Education (Graduate Level) is the only set of programs that has non-licensure and licensure options.

LICENSURE PROGRAM ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
In compliance with federal and state regulations, the Purdue University (West Lafayette) College of Education publicly discloses its undergraduate and graduate level Teacher Education programs each of which integrate required clinical experiences and conclude with an Indiana Educators License. One set of programs, Online Special Education, provides two options: Option A: Non-licensure and Option B: Licensure.
Option A may or may not require clinical experiences and will not lead to an instructional license within or outside Indiana. Upon successful completion of Option B, the State of Indiana will grant to a program completer an 1.) Indiana Initial Instructional license in Exceptional Needs.
Purdue University Teacher Education program completers, who seek licensure in a state other than Indiana, can expect that state to assign further licensure requirements, conduct a transcript and credential review, verify program completion, and/or require additional testing. For Purdue Teacher Education program completers who hold an Indiana license, the State of Indiana has two-way, Interstate Reciprocity Agreements with the District of Columbia and each state and US territory. Each agreement is unique and subject to change.

The Purdue University Teacher Education Program is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the State of Indiana.
Statement of Understanding:- 1. I understand that this program has two options: A.) Non-licensure and B.) Licensure.
- 2. I understand that by choosing Option A, clinical experiences may or may not be required and I will not qualify for an instructional license within or outside of Indiana.
- 3. I understand that to enroll in a graduate level licensure program a customized Transcript Evaluation and Credential Review (TECR) is required to A.) Confirm my eligibility to enroll by meeting licensure pre-requisites and to B.) Obtain a formalized document stating program and Indiana licensure expectations consistent with my professional goals.
- 4. I understand that upon successful completion of Option B (Licensure) and all required licensure expectations, including examinations, I may apply for an Indiana Initial Instructional License.
- 5. I understand that obtaining licensure in a state other than Indiana is not a guarantee and is reliant on the Interstate Reciprocity Agreement between Indiana and the other state or territory.
- 6. I understand that Purdue University cannot guarantee clinical placements with specific districts and/or schools.
- 7. I understand that fees may be required for clinical and/or licensure obligations and am aware that these fees are my responsibility.

LICENSURE PROGRAM ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
In compliance with federal and state regulations, the Purdue University (West Lafayette) Teacher Education publicly discloses its undergraduate and graduate level Teacher Education programs. The program for which you are enrolled is a non-licensure program and will not lead to a state-level educators license within or outside of Indiana.
Some non-licensure programs e.g., ABA may have a national certification option which is separate and distinct from program completion.

- 2. I understand that clinical experiences may or may not be required and I will not qualify for an instructional, administrative, or school services license within or outside of Indiana.
