College of Ed offers graduate certificates in Career & Technical Education
For more than 35 years, the Purdue University College of Education has offered the Learning Development Program in Career and Technical Education (CTE) to teachers as three independent courses with six possible content areas available. Now, to better meet the needs of today’s professional educators, these professional development courses are available as one 9-credit, online graduate certificate.
Starting in the summer of 2024 the College will offer the online Learning Development Program – Work-based Learning Graduate Certificate. The application deadline for summer 2024 start is April 1, 2024.

Upon completion of the graduate certificates all credits can be counted toward the online master’s program.
Other approved graduate certificates for the CTE program include:
- Learning Development Program – Advanced Manufacturing Education Graduate Certificate
- Learning Development Program – Career Education Graduate Certificate
- Learning Development Program – Career Pathways Graduate Certificate
- Learning Development Program – Generalizable Skills Instruction Graduate Certificate
- Learning Development Program – Special Needs Populations Graduate Certificate
These certificates are geared towards, but not limited to:
- Career and Technical Education teachers
- Special Education teachers
- Adult Education providers
- Human Resource and Talent Development professionals
About 97% of the participants in this program are provided with scholarships funded by grants.
