Virtual Learning for the Remainder of the Semester

Students—In this season of thanks, I’m grateful for you and the persistence you’ve shown throughout this semester. You definitely deserve a break for the holidays.

I recognize and appreciate the dedication you’ve shown to keeping yourself and others safe and healthy, and I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished in your studies and field experiences. I know our faculty and staff will agree–you have done an outstanding job, even under the most difficult of circumstances. Please continue to persevere through these last few weeks of online learning and come back refreshed from break, ready to tackle the spring semester. I commend you on your ability to navigate these unprecedented times.

Remember that just because winter break is fast approaching it does not mean that we can relax our efforts. In these uncertain times, amidst a global pandemic, we must remain vigilant. We must continue our diligence to protect the health and safety of every member of our campus and community. We work together to tackle problems head-on, developing practical solutions to the world’s toughest challenges.

In the College of Education, we are the professionals who will be teaching the leaders of tomorrow. We are the professionals who will lead school districts, provide higher education leadership, teach the next generation of students, and ensure the mental health of those who seek counseling services.

Again, thank you for all your hard work this semester, and I appreciate your dedication to your classes while upholding the Protect Purdue Pledge. At the College of Education, we are always taking the next step together because every giant leap starts with one small step. Stay safe and be well College of Education students. I can’t wait to see you spring semester!
