College of Education undergraduate student Clara Owen appointed to Boiler Success Team

College of Education undergraduate student Clara Owen was recently appointed as a new member of the Boiler Success Team (BST) Student Advisory Board, one of 15 students appointed to the BST Board. Owen is a senior from Evansville, Indiana, and is studying Social Studies Education.

The Boiler Success Team brings together students, faculty, and staff with diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to issues related to undergraduate student success.

Owen explains she is looking forward to being part of the BST Student Advisory Board, where she hopes to support the academic success and wellbeing of students who have experienced some sort of trauma as well as support the safety and success of Boilermaker women on and off campus.

As a network of Purdue students, the BST Student Advisory Board works together with faculty and staff to advocate for change within the university. The Student Advisory Board brings attention and action to issues that drive the academic and career success of all Purdue undergraduate students by sharing their thoughts about cross-disciplinary and experiential education opportunities across campus.

BST is supported by Purdue University to promote an environment where students can face fewer barriers to timely degree completion as they navigate their own path to a meaningful degree. Faculty, staff, and administrators view the Boiler Success Team as a means of improving communication and collaboration across units, and a group they can turn to for generating, evaluating, and implementing initiatives.
