New faculty, lecturers, post-docs join College of Education
The Purdue University College of Education welcomes new colleagues this fall: nine faculty members, four lecturers, and six post-doctoral researchers.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome new faculty members, lecturers, and post-doctoral researchers to the College of Education,” said Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean of the College. “Our new colleagues bring a wide range of experiences and expertise and will make significant contributions to programs in both departments – contributions that continue to define us as ‘quinoa’ in a field of wheat!”
The new faculty and lecturers will contribute to helping the College meet its new Innovation Initiative (I2) in teacher education: guaranteed, specialized preparation in meeting the needs of diverse learners; more hands-on experience; year-long student teaching; community-based learning experiences; preparation in virtual instruction; and induction and mentoring for new teachers.
These new colleagues will also further strengthen the College’s award-winning graduate programs, bring in new leadership and expertise into College centers, and help further its research mission.
“We are excited to have these outstanding new colleagues join our College – they bring in a wealth of teaching, research, and professional experience in their respective fields,” said Wayne E. Wright, associate dean for Research, Graduate Programs, and Faculty Development.
Welcome, new colleagues!
