Step 1: Apply

Students interested in receiving a graduate certificate must complete a separate graduate application to formally apply to the certificate program. Application deadlines are posted on each program webpage, and students are encouraged to apply well in advance of completion of the courses for the certificate. Applications cannot be processed until the application is submitted and the application fee is paid.

Step 2: Register for Coursework

Consult with your major professor and register for courses each semester. You can register using the scheduling assistant in myPurdue and the registration pin 999999.

Alternatively, you can contact our office at edgrad@purdue.edu for registration. We can assist with adding courses through the first week of a semester.

If any course substitutions are approved by the certificate program coordinator, please email this approval to edgrad@purdue.edu for our records.

Register early to avoid the $200 late registration fee.

Step 3: Candidacy Registration

You MUST be registered as a candidate in the final semester of your last course for the certificate.

We recommend that students email edgrad@purdue.edu to request to register for candidacy for graduation during the first week of classes in the final term (or sooner). Failure to do so may result in a late fee or a delay of graduation.
