Student Organizations

At the College of Education, learning goes beyond the classroom. Student organizations provide meaningful opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow. Whether you’re looking to expand your professional network, engage in service, or develop leadership skills, these groups offer a valuable extension of your academic experience.

Student Organizations

Community Outreach for Rising Educators

Community Outreach for Rising Educators (C.O.R.E.) is a student-led organization designed to bridge the gap between aspiring educators and the broader K–12 community. Our mission is to cultivate a culture of service, mentorship, and experiential learning that empowers future teachers while enriching the educational experiences of local youth.

Purdue Student Education Council

The Purdue Student Education Council (PSEC) provides opportunities for students to connect to professors, local teachers, and principals on a more personal level through hosted events and member meetings.

Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) is committed to recognizing excellence and fostering mutual cooperation, support, and professional growth for educational professionals.

Curriculum & Instruction Graduate Student Association

The Curriculum & Instruction Graduate Student Association (CIGSA) aims to foster a greater sense of community within the department. Members are invited to participate in social events and relax in a friendly environment. These social events provide a chance to unwind and connect with colleagues outside of the usual work environment.

Purdue Student Council for Exceptional Children

The Purdue Student Council for Exceptional Children (PSCEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving education for students with disabilities and/or the gifted.

Ambassadors

The College of Education Ambassadors help with recruitment efforts by being the face of the college to prospective students. They work directly with the college’s recruiter to help prospective students on their journey to becoming a teacher through Purdue’s various teacher education programs. Want to become an Ambassador for the College of Education? Please reach out to Ryan Farrell for more information.

Professional Organizations

There are a number of professional organizations outside of Purdue that you can join to learn more about the teaching profession and advance your career as an educator. Membership in these groups shows employers that you’re committed to excellence in your field or subject area.
