Purdue College of Education jumps 27 spots in Times Higher Ed WUR Rankings

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings listed Purdue University’s subject area of Education as #51 in the world for 2024 – a jump of 27 spots from the 2023 ranking (#78). The College of Education is the primary college at Purdue University providing instruction in the Education subject area.

“We are delighted that Times Higher Education recognized the College of Education – and our faculty, staff, and students – as truly world-class,” said Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean of the College. “The College of Education’s ranking of #51 was the second highest of all ranked subject areas at Purdue, behind only the College of Engineering at #32. The jump from #78 to #51 was also the second largest at Purdue, behind only the Department of Computer Science’s increase of 37 spots.”

Purdue’s Education subject area ranked 21st among U.S. institutions, 14th among public universities with Colleges of Education, and was the highest ranked in Indiana.

“Our College of Education faculty are outstanding instructors preparing future teachers and educational researchers, and are leading scholars in the field of education,” said Wayne E. Wright, associate dean of research, graduate education, and faculty development. “It is gratifying to see their hard work and dedication to the field of Education reflected in this high and prestigious Times Higher Education ranking.”
