Students pursuing our Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Educational Studies with a concentration in Educational Psychology and Research Methodology include:

  • Graduate students whose ultimate educational goal is a PhD
  • Graduate students seeking employment in masters-level positions that apply educational psychology or education statistics, such as assessment specialists, learning analysts, program evaluators, and corporate trainers.
  • Teachers seeking advanced academic qualifications

This residential program has rolling admission. Applications must be fully complete and submitted (including all required materials) and all application fees paid prior to the deadline in order for applications to be considered and reviewed. What degree is conferred upon satisfactory completion of this program?

Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Educational Studies with a concentration of Educational Psychology and Research Methodology. The transcript shows an abbreviated name for the concentration (“Educational Psychology”), and the diploma states the degree objective.

Courses

Students can choose the thesis or non-thesis option for their degree. Students intending to pursue a PhD typically select the thesis option.

  • The non-thesis option requires a minimum of 33 credit hours of graduate courses.
  • The thesis option requires a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate courses plus six (6) credit hours of graduate thesis work.
  • At least 17 graduate credit hours must be taken at Purdue University.  Transfer applicants are welcome.
