MSEd Timeline
This webpage contains resources and guidance for all residential graduate students in the College of Education currently pursuing a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree. Students in online MSEd programs should communicate with your Student Success Coordinator regarding the steps and timeline for your program.
Step 1
Coursework
Consult with your major professor and register for courses each semester. You can register using the Scheduling Assistant in myPurdue.
Alternatively, you can contact our office for assistance with registration.
We recommend registering before the first week of classes, and be sure to Confirm Enrollment in myPurdue. Failure to register and/or Confirm Enrollment before the Late Registration Fee Deadline may result in a $200 late registration fee from the Office of the Registrar.
Step 2
Plan of Study
Submit your electronic plan of study in myPurdue by the end of the second semester.
The approval process can be lengthy, so submit as early as possible. The plan of study must be approved prior to the semester in which you intend to graduate.
Step 3
Candidacy Registration
You MUST be registered as a candidate in the semester of graduation.
We recommend that students email the Office of Graduate Studies to request to register for candidacy for graduation during the first week of classes in the final term (or sooner). Failure to register for candidacy before the Candidacy Registration Deadline may result in a late fee or a delay of graduation.
