Coherence

The theme for our 2026 conference is “Coherence” and focuses on how educational stakeholders can work together to bring alignment to AI in education, moving from fragmented tools to human-centered practice that aligns innovation with core educational goals and outcomes. Presentations will include resources and strategies to promote student learning and further teacher and administrator development with opportunities for sharing best practices and lessons learned. Attendees are encouraged to consider submitting a proposal.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Kui Xie

Dean and Joanne H. Hook Dean’s Chair in Educational Renewal in the College of Education & Human Development at the University of Missouri

For more than two decades, Xie’s research has explored how motivation, engagement, and technology shape learning and teaching. His work examines how students engage and learn in digital environments, how teachers’ beliefs and motivation influence their use of technology, and how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can be used meaningfully in education. Through his research, Xie has engaged more than 2,500 teachers and 15,000 students and developed deep partnerships with schools across Ohio, Michigan, and Missouri. His work exemplifies the spirit of translational research, bridging academic discovery and educational practice to create meaningful impact in schools and communities.

Xie is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in Educational Psychology and Editor-in-Chief of The Internet and Higher Education. He is also an active public scholar whose research and perspectives on technology, AI, student engagement, and education have appeared in The Conversation, TIME, NPR, U.S. News, Scientific American, and other national media.
