Licensure Information

All Purdue University Teacher Education Program and Indiana Department of Education requirements must be met for recommendation for Indiana licensure.

After all requirements are met, Purdue graduates will be considered eligible to apply to the Indiana Department of Education for licensure under REPA 3 in:

Early Literacy (P-5)

¹Beginning July 1, 2025 – According to the Indiana State Board of Education, students seeking an Initial Indiana License in a content area involving literacy instruction, including special education, must obtain an Early Literacy endorsement (P-5), as required under IC 20-28-5-19.7. This endorsement is required for all Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, and Inclusion Program majors.
