Purdue University’s College of Education offers numerous and diversified Teacher Education Programs that result in eligibility for an Indiana Professional Educator’s License, including program options in both Instruction and Administration. Applicants can choose from undergraduate and graduate programs while earning a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Educational Specialist, or a Doctorate degree, depending upon the licensure program. The College of Education at Purdue University is nationally accredited at the initial-licensure level by CAEP, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The College of Education will undergo a national review of its advanced licensure programs in Teacher Education by CAEP in the spring of 2026. Upon CAEP review and Indiana Department of Education recommendation, the College of Education at Purdue University is also accredited at the state level by the Indiana State Board of Education. Additional Information on High Ability

The High Ability (Indiana Additional Instructional License) program is no longer accepting or enrolling new students. Current eligible licensure students have been notified with instructions on how and within what timeline to complete the program to qualify for licensure. For all other students, please note that any course(s) shared between licensure and non-licensure programs/tracks cannot be applied toward a High Ability license in the future or retroactively.

Additional Information on Director of Career/Technical

The Director of Career and Technical Education (Indiana District Level Administrator – Director of Career and Technical Education License) Advanced Licensure Program is no longer accepting or enrolling new students. Current eligible licensure students have been notified with instructions on how and within what timeline to complete the program to qualify for licensure. For all other students, please note that any course(s) shared between licensure and non-licensure programs/tracks cannot be applied toward a Director of Career and Technical Education license in the future or retroactively.

*These graduate level programs may only be added to a valid Indiana Instructional License. An Emergency Permit, Transition to Teaching Permit, Career Specialist Permit, Charter School License, or Workplace Specialist II are not applicable.
