Prolific authors: College of Education leads Purdue in books published per tenure track faculty
At its recent all-college meeting (Sept. 25), the College recognized 12 new books published by its faculty since December 2025. Five of those were first-time book authors.
Phillip J. VanFossen, the Suzi & Dale Gallagher Dean of Education, congratulated the faculty authors on their successes. “This level of productivity is both impressive and emblematic of our faculty” he said. “We continue to lead Purdue in books published per tenure track faculty.”
The authors and their book titles are:
Alsup, Janet – Critical Reflections on Leading in Educational Contexts: Entering Identity Portals
Cress, Alyssa – Balancing Brilliance and Belonging: The intersection of Giftedness, Adoption, and Foster Care (To be published Oct. 20, 2026)
Guzey, S. Selcen – Teaching Integrated STEM in Middle School (Published Dec. 2025)
Levesque-Bristol, Chantal – Designing Impactful College Courses: Applying Self-Determination Theory
Li, Haiyan, and Wayne E. Wright – English Learner Literacy in Elementary Schools: Instructional Quality, Professional Development, and the Impact of COVID-19 (To be published Oct. 13, 2026)
*This book by Li and Wright is the first book in the new Emerald-Purdue Research Impact Series.
Maeda, Yukiko, and Sheila Hurt – Quantitative Methods in Education: A Practical Introduction to Statistics
