ELRC welcomes 2 new research associates

Marlo Reeves and Mike Poletika

The College of Education’s Evaluation Learning and Research Center recently welcomed two new evaluation and research associates to its team.

Marlo Reeves is an applied sociologist of education specializing in program evaluation across formal and out-of-school educational settings. Her research explores how youth-serving organizations navigate institutional resistance and compliance during times of social change, with a focus on how social identities shape the experiences of students and staff. She uses critical qualitative methodologies along with culturally responsive and equitable evaluation frameworks to help organizations capture meaningful growth and build capacity.

Mike Poletika is an experienced education policy and child welfare evaluator who uses mixed methods to examine the effects of policies and programs on student outcomes and identify ways to improve the lives of children involved in child welfare systems. His research interests include STEM education programs, K–12 education privatization, and higher education policies related to student financial aid and debt.
