At its first Power Friday event of the semester (Sept. 12), the College celebrated 12 faculty authors who published 16 books in 2024-25.

Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean of the College, introduced the celebration by congratulating faculty on their successes.

“Book pipeline data from the Office of the Provost indicates that the College of Education is number one at Purdue in books per tenure-track faculty,” VanFossen said. “With 51 book projects currently underway (and 47 tenure-track faculty), the College of Education is the only Purdue college where this ratio is above one.”

Faculty authors then gave short presentations about their books and answered questions from the audience. Cristina Farmus, vice president for special projects in the Office of the Provost, discussed resources and other information for faculty authors. Lunch and a book raffle followed.
