Congratulations to a number of College of Education faculty and staff who have received awards recently.

Three College of Education faculty members were given awards for their years of service by Provost Jay Akridge:

Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean, director of the James F. Ackerman Center for Democratic Citizenship, and professor (EDCI) – 25 years

Yan Ping Xin, professor of Special Education (EDST) – 15 years

Victoria Lowell, clinical associate professor of Learning Design and Technology (EDCI) – 10 years

Renita Betts, monthly payroll clerk (ADMIN) – Outstanding Service Award

Virak Chan, clinical assistant professor of Literacy and Language (EDCI) – Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award

Bob Evans, director of the Office of Information Technology (ADMIN) – Sidney Marsh Moon Outstanding Service Award

Wanju Huang, clinical assistant professor of Learning Design & Technology (EDCI) – Outstanding Service Award

Victoria Lowell, clinical associate professor of Learning Design and Technology (EDCI) – Outstanding Graduate Faculty Mentor Award

Trish Morita Mullaney, associate professor of Literacy & Language (EDCI) – Dean’s Award for Outstanding Faculty Scholarship, Tenured 

Jill Newton, associate professor of Mathematics Education (EDCI) – Outstanding Leadership in Global Engagement Award – and will also be the college’s nominee for the University-level Outstanding Leadership in Globalization Award

Loran Parker, associate director and principal evaluation and research scholar (ELRC) – Staff Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice Award

Jennifer Richardson, College of Education’s 150th Anniversary Professor

Jennifer Smith, clinical assistant professor of Special Education (EDST) – Outstanding Faculty Engagement Award

Rachel Swank, licensing advisor (ACAD) – Outstanding Service Award

Abby Weiderhaft, graduate studies coordinator (ACAD) – Earl B. Notestine Award
