El Rincón Bilingüe – Bilingual Storytime

El Rincón Bilingüe is a free bilingual storytime initiative in the Lafayette area that brings together children, caregivers, and community members to explore the joy of stories, language, and learning in both Spanish and English. Sessions are held at two community libraries—the West Lafayette Public Library and the Tippecanoe County Public Library (Holman Branch)—and feature interactive read-alouds, hands-on activities, and crafts designed to celebrate bilingualism while fostering early literacy, creativity, and family engagement.
Whether your family speaks Spanish, English, both, or is interested in learning, everyone is welcome!
We also welcome volunteers who are passionate about supporting bilingual families and creating meaningful community experiences. Volunteers facilitate or co-facilitate storytime sessions by reading aloud, guiding post-reading activities, and engaging with children and families throughout the program. No previous experience is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
