About
Negar Bakhshandeh is a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Literacy and Language Education at Purdue University. With more than a decade of teaching experience across K–12 and higher education settings in multiple countries, her work is shaped by an international perspective on language education, assessment, and educational systems. Her primary research interests center on high-stakes standardized testing, language assessment and policy, and the gatekeeping functions of assessment in shaping educational access and opportunity. She is particularly interested in how language and assessment policies are developed, interpreted, and enacted—and how these decisions affect multilingual learners, teachers, and educational institutions. Her scholarship also explores teacher beliefs and cognition, language ideologies, Global Englishes, and the relationship between educational policy and classroom practice.
