James D. Lehman is a professor emeritus of learning design and technology. Prior to his retirement from full-time faculty work, he served in several leadership positions including associate dean for research and faculty development in the College of Education, head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and the director of the Discovery Learning Research Center at Purdue. His scholarly interests focus on technology integration in education particularly in the STEM disciplines, e-learning, project-based learning, and computer science education. He has published more than 50 refereed journal articles and book chapters and is co-author of the textbook Educational Technology for Teaching and Learning. He has received about $20 million in grant funding and was the director of Purdue's Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to use Technology (PT3) project. Professor Lehman is a member of Purdue’s Teaching Academy and was inducted into its Book of Great Teachers.
