Austin Jenkins

As a former secondary science teacher in the Indianapolis area, Austin brings a wealth of expertise to Purdue's science education program as well as the Indiana GEAR UP program. Austin has taught elementary and secondary science methods courses as well as worked on several research projects with Indiana GEAR UP and the Center for Advancing the Teaching and Learning of STEM (CATALYST). Through these experiences, Austin hopes to create learning spaces, both formal and informal, where students and their families feel empowered to connect positively with science. Inherent in Austin's work is a deep commitment to honoring student and family voice in research and practice.
