Skeel begins her new positions while also transitioning out of her current Purdue for Life leadership role through the end of this fiscal year (June 30). Since July 2022, she has served in a senior managing role with the Purdue For Life donor relations team, helping to implement new streamlined processes and enhance collaboration amongst units. Her advancement career at Purdue totals nearly 18 years across the organization.

“Katie brings a wealth of experience with other units on campus and with Purdue for Life, and we know the College will benefit from these networks and from her experience with donor relations,” said Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean of the College.

For seven years (2015-2022), Skeel led the donor relations efforts in the College of Pharmacy and was integral in helping to build Pharmacy’s major gifts pipeline with creative cultivation and stewardship touchpoints. She maintained a small portfolio of donors and was a part of booking over $5M in gifts, while the college more than doubled its output for student support.

She succeeds Tammy Maynard, the College’s former senior director of development.

“Our former Director of Development Tammy Maynard has been promoted and we are certainly sorry to see her leave, but we are very excited for Katie to join us,” VanFossen said.

Skeel has deep roots in the Greater Lafayette community and is a Purdue University graduate with a BS in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. She resides in West Lafayette with her husband, Josh, and their two children, Skylar and Sam.
