Still No. 1 in Indiana: U.S. News & World Report ranks College of Ed online master’s programs at No. 15 in U.S.

The Purdue University College of Education online master’s programs jumped eight spots in the U.S. News & World Report 2024 Best Online Programs rankings. Released Feb. 7, the College is now ranked at No. 15 in the U.S., up from its 2023 ranking of No. 23.

Other new rankings in the College’s online programs include:

  • Curriculum & Instruction is ranked No. 6, up 13 spots from No. 19 in 2023
  • Learning Design & Technology remains in the top 10 (No. 10)

Additionally, two other College online programs that were not ranked in 2023 were ranked in 2024:

  • Educational Administration is ranked No. 11
  • Special Education is ranked No. 13

These rankings place Purdue’s College of Education in the top 5% of all ranked online master’s programs in the nation.

We remain the highest ranked online program in the state of Indiana,” said Robin Cunningham, senior manager of the College of Education’s online and hybrid programs.

Phillip J. VanFossen, interim dean of the College, noted that “this recent recognition validates the extraordinary efforts of our faculty and confirms our leadership in delivering quality, faculty-designed/faculty-delivered online learning.”

“We are thrilled to see our highly ranked online programs move up even higher in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report Rankings,” said Wayne E. Wright, associate dean for research, graduate programs, and faculty development in the College of Education. “I attribute our success to our outstanding faculty and staff with expertise in online program and instructional design, and the active involvement of our award-winning full-time faculty who ensure consistent high-quality instruction across our online and on-campus programs.”

U.S. News & World Report is a recognized leader in ranking colleges, programs, and graduate schools. Each year, Purdue’s College of Education strives to continually improve its programs and relies on the rankings to help promote and serve as a recruiting tool for prospective students seeking a quality online educational experience.
